In the early morning hours of September 22, 2006, Stamford Police, Fire, EMS and Emergency Management conducted a full scale suprise drill simulating a terrorism attack at the Stamford Transportation Center. Personnel, sworn to secrecy, worked through the night prepping the scene under the I-95 overpass, crushing cars with heavy concrete blocks and creating a simulated Mass Casualty Incident that looked incredible real. The simulation used a combination of volunteers with realistic simulated injuries as well as dummies for the more dangerous simulations. The entire drill was paid for with a grant by the Federal Government.
