On January 27, 1892, the Venetian Bloc, W. H. Taylor’s building on the corner of the Canal and Pacific Streets., was destroyed by fire. On February 6, 1893, there was another fire in the same building.  We cannot find anything about these two fires in the news, but we do have a thank you letter from area businessmen.
